39 Week Baby Bump

39 weeks

Well, today I'm officially 39 weeks. Nothing is happening really other than having contractions on and off since last Monday. They aren't painful and I don't really notice them if I'm busy, but occasionally one will catch me off guard. They are more annoying than anything. I'm hoping I will have made some changes at my next Dr's appointment, which is Wednesday, but if this is anything like last time I will still be the same! I'm really trying to have faith in God's timing (thanks Aunt Lisa!) but I'm pretty sure if they offer induction on Wednesday that I'll take it. The risks associated with induction that I was so afraid of with Logan are slim to none the second time around...but we'll see! Thursday evening would be perfect, but Friday is Friday the 13th and I'm not sure if I'm ok having a baby that day or not. I'm not usually superstitious though...

I'll update again after my appointment on Wednesday.

38 week appt.

Today was my 38 week appointment. I'm 38 weeks 2 days. I am officially considered full term, so it's safe for baby Nate to make his appearance at any time!

My blood pressure was high today. Higher than my normal "high". They checked it a couple times but it didn't come down. She also checked me today. I'm still only fingertip dilated. Bummer. My weight was great though. I didn't gain anymore from last week.

Since my blood pressure was up, they sent me to Athens Regional to be admitted for observation. They wanted to do some blood work, monitor the baby and take my blood pressure every 15 minutes. My blood work came back normal and baby Nate was normal on the monitors. All that means is that my blood pressure is not affecting his placenta and it's still functioning normally. My blood pressure went down for the most part as well, so they let me come home. However I was having regular mild contractions every 4 minutes, which I've been feeling for a couple days, just nothing strong. The more I laid there the worse they got, but they were never strong enough for them to think labor was starting. The nurse said they should help baby move down and get me dilated some, so that's good news!! They said I just need to take it easy as much as I can with a two year old running around.

Anxious

Why can't my water just break? It would be so nice to go into labor spontaneously. I guess if I give it enough time I will. I can't be pregnant forever, right?!

Nothing has changed, that I know of anyway. I go to the Dr tomorrow and I'm hoping she says I'm like 4 cm and 0 station and accidentally breaks my water! But I doubt it, haha. I'm getting really anxious for some reason though. I'm feeling fine. I haven't felt my BP go up in some time. I'm no more uncomfortable than I was, other than my wrists. I had a huge cyst that's come up on the back of my left hand. Also, the ganglion cysts that I've had in both wrists for the past 8 years or so are acting up for the first time in a long time. I'm guessing the bump on the back of my hand is also a ganglion. It was really bothering me last night, to the point that it kept me up. It makes my ring finger and little finger tingle and shoots down my arm into my elbow. Also the tip of my thumb on my left hand is tingly/numb almost, which is from the cyst in my wrist. The right wrist is just sore for now, but I'm not sure what I'll do if both hands go out of commission! Good thing I quit work when I did!!
