We moved! Yep, finally back in our home town. I'm about a mile from my parents and it's the biggest blessing to be back by them. Even though I had been wishful dreaming and looking for months, this house kind of fell in our lap at the last minute. Then, even more things fell together, like the preschool had an unexpected cancellation and the little boys were able to get signed up for preschool and mother's day out immediately and Logan was able to get into a school we are happy with. It's been a good transition. The boys had no problems adjusting. They like that they can count to 80 and be at Mawmaw's house.
Nate turned 4 the week after we moved in. We asked him what he wanted to do for his birthday and he said he wanted to go on a boat ride and have a fire. We have a really neat firepit at our new house and they love having a fire. Gran Gran and Pawpaw Dave went boat riding with us and then my parents came over later and roasted marshmallows. We all enjoyed celebrating Nate for the day! He is such a big boy now and is officially in Pre-K. He had no issue going into school this year. No months of crying like he did last year. He just walks on down to his class and never even turns around to say bye. He will do Pre-K twice because his birthday is so late, so we will be holding him back a year so he's not always the youngest. Every educator and parent I've talked to suggests holding late birthdays back, especially boys. So that's what we're doing. Hopefully he will be starting kindergarten in 2 years with a leg up instead of down. He is such a joy to us and I always get asked what did I do to have such happy kids, because Nate, in particular, is ALWAYS smiling!
Logan is in kindergarten now. Gosh, how time flies. I think I say that every blog post. He is doing really well in school. He has 4 books he can read. He surprises me everyday with what he's learned with reading, writing and math, and his behavior is exceptional. Anyone else surprised about his behavior?! haha His teacher make compliments often to his character and how he is always helping and kind to others and that probably means more to me than any academic milestone! He is playing fall ball and has fallen right into making new friends on his team even though initially he was a little sad that he wasn't playing with his Ooltewah friends. He is playing first base this season and has improved leaps and bounds from this past spring season. The coaches this season are great and are really helping him and the team with fundamentals and the flow of the game. I'm really excited to see what he does in spring ball!
Graham is growing leap and bounds! He's such a little boy now instead of a baby. He wants, and mostly does, everything his big brothers do. Sometime so much it scares me, ha. He loves going to the baseball field and playing in the dirt, (Mostly filling his boots up with rocks. Yes, he wants to wear his cowboy boots everywhere.) He goes to Mother's Day Out one day a week and he absolutely loves it.
