Yesterday during nap time, Graham and I slept on a crib sheet to get both of our scent rubbed all in it (that sounds kind of gross). Then last night, Brent set up the pack n play beside our bed and put that sheet in it. When Graham went to sleep, I put him down in the pack n play and he slept so good!! He got up twice, which is normal for him, ate and went right back to sleep in the pack n play. I was soooo shocked! Hopefully I'm not speaking too soon, but maybe we'll get our bed back sooner than expected?! Maybe soon I can get Nate out of Graham's room and we can have a kid free room.

Settled
We are pretty much settled in now. There's just a couple things left to hang. I'm sure we'll get around to it....someday! I like the area. I wish there was a Target closer. I got kind of spoiled in Atlanta and Warner Robins with a Target just down the road. I love me some Target!
One disappointment so far is there are no preschool programs like the one they were going to in Warner Robins, nearby. There is Mother's Day Out at Bayside Baptist but it is full and there is a waiting list. I really liked them getting some social interaction with kids their age (and some quiet time for me too!), so maybe we can find a group or something to get them involved in. We started going to Story Time at the library last week. It was a COMPLETE disaster. Logan was pestering other kids, he wouldn't sit still, he wouldn't participate in the song and dance, Nate wanted to do exactly what Logan was doing so he was acting out as well. We ended up leaving early and they didn't get to do the craft, which upset them...so maybe they will be better this week!
I really, really like being near the lake. I'm pretty sure I was meant to live on the water. I think I've mentioned it before, but there's something so peaceful about being near or on the water. I think I need my own dock, a hammock, a cool breeze, Mommy Capri Sun, a book and a sunset. Can you make that happen, Brent?
I love, love, love Brent's new schedule and job. The 4 days he works are long days, but the 3 days he is off are ahhhh-mazing! He's not constantly on the phone or checking email, he's not getting text messages and calls during dinner from his boss, no mandatory conference calls at all times of the day, no middle of the night calls due to mechanical/server/injury/disgruntle employee issues. He's not coming home frustrated and overwhelmed.
Last week we had a little 4th of July gathering. We won a ton of fireworks, so we invited some people over last minute to shoot them off. I love entertaining so it was right up my alley. I didn't get to go all out like usual because it was a last minute thing, but I had fun just having people over! It's been so long since I've entertained friends. I can't wait to have more cookouts!
Speaking of parties, I have started preparing for Nate's 2nd birthday! It will be at our house. We are having a Luau/water theme. Slip N Slide, kiddie pool, water balloons, bubbles, sidewalk spray chalk, etc. It will be Sunday Aug 12. Sometime after church. Mark it on your calendars! I'm thinking we'll have Pigs in a Blanket for our "pig roast", goldfish for the "fish fry", frozen fruit skewers, chips/dip, Hawaiian punch, etc.
Update on the boys:
Logan: Is a WILD CHILD! He can be so good and so bad at the same time. He is SO smart. The things he says and remembers, his thought process...it's just mind blowing sometimes. Today we started doing a little bit of school time. We are working on letter/number recognition and writing mostly with some color/shape review worked in. The next two weeks we are doing "I is for Insects". He already recognizes a capital I. I gave Nate a coloring page today with an iguana on it while Logan and I worked on something else. Logan ended up coloring too. He mostly stayed within the lines, which surprised me. Later this evening he was showing Brent the picture he colored and I asked him what letter Iguana started with. He thought for a minute and said "E!". I know it's the wrong letter but I was SO IMPRESSED because if you think about it, iguana does sound like it starts with an E. He also managed to cut on the line with some scissor skills worksheets (who knew cutting was a preschool/Kindergarten requirement?!). He named all the colors. I had plastic bugs and a print out of a jar and asked him to put a specific number of bugs in the jar. I would say "can you put eight bugs in the jar?" and he got it right every time! All the way to 10 anyways. He recognized his name, which I wrote out on his school box (they were working on that in his class in Warner Robins). Anyways, I was proud of what all he knew already.
Nate is a little chatterbox now. He speaks sentences 99% of the time. He's still at the age where he's so very eager to please mommy and does anything I ask him to do. Praise works better than discipline with him. He has to go to the corner occasionally and the poor sad face he makes when he's in the corner breaks my heart. He stands there like a big boy, doesn't talk or move, until I say he can get out. He can count to 10 now. He picked it up on his own. I haven't purposely taught him. When him and Logan are fighting over a toy or won't share I say "Logan, I'm counting to 10 and then it's Nate's turn"...so I think he picked it up from that. He asks to sing Jesus Loves Me every night as a part of his bedtime prayers. He can sing most of the words. It's so cute to hear him sing :) He also knows Twinkle, Twinkle and Rock a By Baby and.....Red Solo Cup. Thank you, Brent, for teaching that to our kids! I heard it nonstop today!
G Baby is growing like a weed! He is in 6-9 mos clothes already. I weighed him yesterday and he was around 16 lbs. I have no idea how accurate my scale is though. He was 4 months on the 8th. He is rolling across the room and pushing up on his hands somewhat. He is reaching, swatting and grasping toys. He loves to watch the lights on his play mat and watch the ceiling fan. He smiles and giggles at everything! Baby giggles are the best! He'll be crawling before we know it!

Incline
Last week we stayed with my parents for a few days while the movers were packing up the house in Warner Robins. The boys were getting a little stir crazy so we headed off to ride the incline. They liked riding the train but didn't want to get off and couldn't have cared less about the view, so I didn't get to enjoy it as much as I'd hoped. We did manage to kill some time though!

Sunday we went to my parents to have homemade ice cream for Father's Day.
Monday, me and the boys went to Harrison Bay and swam in the lake. The big boys loved finding pretty rocks in the water, throwing rocks, splashing, and wading around. I forgot my phone in the car, so I didn't get any pictures. :(
Tuesday, we went to the "zoop"....or the zoo, as everyone but Logan calls it. It was pretty hectic keeping up with two kids running in opposite directions and looking at different animals, but thank goodness it wasn't crowded and I managed ok. Warner Park Zoo is totally different than what it was when I was a kid. It seems to have the same type of animals, mostly monkeys and birds, but with fancy enclosures and landscape. We weren't just walking from cage to cage like we did as kids. It still has nothing on the Minnesota or Atlanta zoo. I couldn't stop them long enough for pictures here either. We also ran over into nap time and they crashed fast so I was dragging them both out of there best I could without someone calling the cops ;)
Today we went for a boat ride. My parents brought up the fishing boat so we could take the boys for a little ride. Mom stayed with Graham while Dad, Logan, Nate and I went riding. When Graham was ready to eat, Mom met us back at the dock. The boys LOVED riding in the boat. We stopped a couple times on little beachy areas to let them swim and they enjoyed finding shells and throwing rocks. There's just something about being on the water that takes all your cares away and refreshes me. I think for me it's because we went to the lake so much as kids. It reminds me of being a carefree kid, I guess. One day I hope we can get a boat and provide that serenity, if you will, for them as well.
Tomorrow I am hoping to make it to the Summer Kids Movie at Northgate. I'm not sure we'll be up, ready and out of the house on time though. Tomorrow evening Julie is coming over to visit and see the house. Friday, me and the kids are meeting my friends for dinner in Ft O. Brent lands around midnight Friday night and I CAN'T WAIT for him to be home!!
Saturday we are going to Thijs' birthday party and spending LOTS of time with Brent.

Friends
Tonight our college friend Ryan and his wife, Esther and their kids, Thijs and Noa, came over. Thijs is almost 3, Noa is around 6 months. The kids had so much fun playing and us adults had so much fun catching up. It was just like old times, plus the kids. It was exactly what we've been missing so much of for the last 6 years.
Already, on just our third official day in town, we've been invited to meet for dinner and a boat ride, to ride the Ducks downtown, to play in the water at the aquarium, to a Father's Day cookout, to a birthday party, and 2 showers. All of which we would have never been able to do living away. A lot of those things conflict with others and we can't do all of them, but just having a friend over tonight is a huge deal. I loved it. It was the perfect evening.
I've missed this so much. I'm so thankful to be back in town.

Moving
Tonight is mine and the boys last night in Warner Robins. We are going to my parents tomorrow. One of my best friends is getting married Saturday night and I have to go in person to turn the electricity and water on, on Monday.
Tomorrow morning we are having a yard sale. Hoping to get rid of some junk and create a little more space in the new house. Me and the boys are leaving at nap time. Hopefully it will be an uneventful drive by myself with all 3 boys. One can hope, right?!?!
As soon as the power and water are turned on, I am going to the new house to deep clean and buy groceries. The movers will be unloading the truck Thursday. Then we have Thursday evening, Friday and Saturday to unpack, settle in and train the big boys to share a room before Brent leaves for Arizona on Sunday at 12 noon for a week of onboarding and training for Amazon. He use to travel a lot for work but hasn't since Nate was little, so I'm not looking forward to being in a new town and new house for a week by myself with the boys, but I'm hoping to fill the week with activities to keep us busy so I don't dwell on it as much. If anyone wants to visit, help unpack or decorate, entertain the boys that week FEEL FREE!! Haha. Hopefully it won't be too bad and I'll survive the week with all my hair and no one injured. I'm really hoping the next two weeks fly by!
