I'm 19 weeks 1 day today. I had just a regular check up this morning. Everything is great! I'd gained back 3 lbs, which I think is to be expected since I was SO sick when I went in the last time. I keep getting confused about how much I've lost/gained so I asked her to check it for me. I'm officially down 8 lbs according to their records. That's not as bad as I thought and I'm sure from here on out the lbs will start adding up (ugh!!).
My BP was 116/60 and Nate's heart rate was in the 150's. At the next appointment (23 wks) they will start measuring his growth. They are going to do my sugar test at the appt after that (27 wks) and then I start going more often. Gosh, time is flying by! This baby will be here before we know it!

Olive Sausage
Sending Brent to the store always ends up with a funny story or two.
Saturday night Brent went to the store. He's been wanting gumbo and I have everything but andouille sausage so I add that to the list.
He gets to the store and thinks I wrote down "and olive sausage". Of course he has no idea what olive sausage is so he asks the guy in the meat department. The meat guy looks at him funny and tells him that he's been working there for 20 yrs and he's never heard of it. He ask to look at the list...then smiles and says I think she means andouille sausage. So Brent walks away, still puzzled and calls me. I end up telling him that it's by the hot dogs and sandwich meat and he finally finds it.
Also, on the list was celery. He does ok here, but comes back with organic celery. That's all fine and dandy it just costs about $1 more, LOL, and you all know me and my deal finding. Organic doesn't fit in that equation very well...
We also needed cereal. Instead of just putting "cereal" on the list I specifically put down Rice Krispies. Rice Krispies were Buy 1 Get 1 but Brent won't do coupons, so I figured I'd at least get what was on sale. Well, he comes back with a small box and the receipt. I'm checking it over and realize that it didn't ring up on sale but for like $3.49. I mention this to him and he says "yeah, it was the big box that was on sale and it was $4 something"....which would have only been $2 something if he'd bought that one instead, HAHAHA!
He also ended up with 99% fat free hotdogs, which he later eats and tells me taste like crap...
Men....at least he was willing to go to the store for me, which probably won't happen again once he realizes I posted this on the internet for all to see!!!!

Our Little Gymnast
I'm pretty sure Brent will hate me for saying this but I think Nate is going to be our little gymnast. He is definitely already doing some pretty acrobatic stuff in my belly. He already has a tendency to punch my bladder, which is not very nice of him at all!! He wants to lay sideways all the time. I hope he starts to change him mind here in the near future and switches it up a little bit. He'll get sideways and I'll go to bend down and not make it very far before I feel like I'm crushing him. He's still so low that he fits right in between my hip bones and it's definitely not very comfortable while trying to bend but at least it gets me out of doing the dishes sometimes. It's about to get me out of bath time as well. It's already getting hard to squat down and bathe Logan, but that's OK, Daddy pretty much handles bath and bed time anyways.
I realized Saturday that my belly button has disappeared again. Well, not really disappeared but it's already almost flat again. I know that's not a pretty mental picture, but when you wake up one morning and realize a drastic change like that it kind of takes you for a loop! I was like what in the world happened?! I'm sure it'll be popping out again before too long. I remember before I was ever pregnant thinking that pregnant bellies with the belly button sticking out were so cute....until mine did it and I was CONSTANTLY trying to hide it, haha.
I'm feeling great and finally have some energy back. We had a little stomach bug come visit us last week but it went as quickly as it came and we've all recovered well. Who knew I could catch throw up and not even bat an eye. Oh the things you'll do for your kids...or for the sake of the upholstery on the rocker and the carpet. Now snot is a different story. I don't do snot. I'm ready for the sickies to leave so I can start to enjoy being pregnant all over again. We go for an appt tomorrow so I'll update then. Hopefully the perinatologist isn't going to surprise us with anything in his report like he did with Logan. I told Brent last week when the Dr wasn't conclusive about his findings that he was DEFINITELY going to the OB appt because with Logan I got a little surprise from the a-hole Dr in his report. We'll see how tomorrow goes. Keeping our fingers crossed!

I'm So Excited....
And I just can't hide it!!!
Brent and I get to go away this weekend!! Whoo hoo!! AND it's with Frito-Lay which means it's free, so that makes it even better!
Thursday we're leaving for Savannah. Little Logan is going to be staying with Mawmaw. Friday Brent has a meeting so I plan on taking a chair to the beach on Tybee and reading ALL day long! Ahh, I'm more relaxed just thinking about it, haha! At 6:30 they are having some sort of awards show and dinner. There's nothing planned for us Saturday so we're just going to roam around and check out Savannah. It's been years since either of us have been there so I'm looking forward to exploring a little sans child.
In other news....
Logan is growing like a weed....and so is his hair! I swear every morning it seems like it doubled overnight. He is at least a head taller than all the kids in his class at daycare. We'd bought him some fancy new shoes around his 1st birthday which he'd outgrown by Christmas. Then, someone had given us some little Nikes that their child never wore that just happened to be the next size up and those are already snug. I'm trying to hold out to get new ones til warmer weather, but I'm not sure we'll make it.
He amazes me daily with his vocabulary. He is able to tell us what he wants now, for the most part. He'll say"bite, bite" when he's hungry along with trying to climb up on his high chair, he'll say drink or juice when he's thirsty. He'll point in the fridge to what he wants (which 99% of the time is watermelon, lol). Or he'll just take it upon himself to pull out whatever from the pantry! Little stinker. He copies everything we say now and I mean EVERYTHING. Good thing we started watching our language a long time ago and are already in that habit. Yesterday he was "cooking", which meant he had a skillet in the floor, spatula and the tops to the celery that I'd cut off, stirring them around pretending to cook. He would even tell me he was "cooking". I'm no long ma-ma-ma, but Momma. He also says Daddy instead of dada now. He still had a tendency to get us confused at times. For instance, Brent took Logan outside of the Japanese restaurant we were eating at because he was getting a little antsy. Once I paid and came outside and he ran down the side walk yelling "daddy!!" at me. He's starting to say little phrases like "ut oh momma" and "I see you" when he pops out of his hiding place (usually behind the curtains) and "no no Jade" or "stop Jade". Right now he's really into ducks and thinks every single animal quacks, so therefore in every book, every stuff animal at the store, every animal real or fake we see he quacks at...except dogs, which he will definitely bark at or tell them to "stop" like we do the dogs at home. "No" has got to be his most favorite word right now though, which gets a little annoying at times.
He's starting to help me dress him. He can definitely undress himself and has been doing that for a while, but now he'll hold up his leg to put his pants on while holding onto my head or shoulder to balance. He'll also help me put his shoes and socks on, which usually slows me down but I'm glad he's wanting to learn these kind of things. I've learned to NEVER EVER tell him we're going bye bye unless I'm ready to walk out the door. If I'm not exactly ready to leave that very second then all hell breaks loose. He's definitely not patient...but what kid is?! Once he hears those magical little words he's off to the door trying to tear it down to get outside and to the car. It doesn't matter if he has clothes on, shoes on, been fed...he could care less, he's just ready to go!
He is definitely getting better with a spoon and fork. Of course some still lands in his lap or on his shirt, but that's to be expected. Some days he won't let us feed him at all and I'm sure the day is near when we can just put food in front of him and let him at it....well, that's pretty much what I do now, unless it's soup or we're about to leave and I need him to stay especially clean.
I think that's all for my big boy's update. I realize now I should have made this a separate post but it won't let me cut and paste for some reason!?!? I'm not real savvy in the blog world yet. Oh well...I am going to make a seperate baby update though.

Well...We Have Another BOY!!!
Trying to get a profile shot...
faceLooks more like mine...

Trying to get another profile shot.

BOY!!!

Trying to get another profile shot.
BOY!!!
Profile.Logan is going to have a little brother! We are thrilled that we are going to have two boys so close in age. I truly hope they become best friends. I hope they can be on the same ball teams, be college roommates and life long buddies....eat dirt and worms and chase lightening bugs around the yard. I can only imagine how great their childhood will be with their best friend right there with them.
Right now we have decided on Nathaniel Franklin. We will call him Nate. Franklin is my Dad's middle name, which was after his Dad, Frank. Daddy never had a boy to carry on the tradition, so we are. It's not 100% just yet though.
He weighed 9 oz, just over a 1/2 a pound. He measured 18 weeks 5 days. According to my dates I am actually 18 weeks 0 days. At our first ultrasound he measured 2 days behind from what I remember, so he's made that up and then some! They will not change my due date though.
We went to the perinatologist for this appointment because of a heart defect one of my sisters was born with. They just want to be extra cautious and look at his heart very extensively. Because of the way he was laying they couldn't get a good view of the septum, which is where my sister's defect was. In some pictures the Dr thought he might have seen a defect and in others he didn't see it at all. Because of this we have to go back in 6 weeks to double check everything. That's ok with me, I'd rather be safe and sorry and I won't mind getting to see him again ;). So, he's perfect...but he'd be perfect regardless. Just so no one worries. My sister lived with the same defect that they may or may not see for 24 years before she even knew she had it. She had surgery then to correct it and it was so small it only took one small suture to fix it. So, it's not anything tremendously serious. From what I learned about it in school, it's one of those things that will more than likely fix itself with time and surgery will probably not be necessary IF there is anything at all wrong. So, please don't freak out....because I don't want to freak out. So far, I've stayed calm...
Boy or Girl?!?!
Today's the big day!! I'm sooo excited! I think with all the distractions and basically forgetting I'm pregnant some days, this is the most excited I've been so far! Yay!!
In other news, I've been able to feel the baby kicking from the outside for about a week. Brent has yet to be patient enough to wait on it though. Once I felt and saw my hand jump when the baby kicked. He/she is moving almost constantly now, which is different from Logan's pregnancy. With Logan I didn't start feeling movements until around this time and they weren't as strong. I hope that's not a sign that I'm going to have another hyper/active baby on my hands but rather just knowing the second time around what the movements feel like and not having an anterior placenta.
I'll update later on what we find out!!!!!

The Park!
Last weekend was beautiful so we took Logan to the park to feed the ducks, play on the playground and to the zoo. The ducks were not hungry at all. They avoided us by all means and their whole pond was full of floating bread. I think I was more disappointed than Logan was. One-he had no clue what we were doing in the first place and was just trying to eat the stale bread and two- I'd saved up end pieces, leftover hot dog and hamburger buns for months, just like my grandmother use to, just for this purpose and the silly ducks weren't even interested. We attempted to go to the zoo as well, but by this point Logan was exhausted and mad so we only stayed for a minute.
